The château looks over the park. Large stone lions guard the
courtyard. An antique ruin nestles alongside a distant lane. At the bottom
of the park to the right one finds a flower garden, along with a vast
collection of French vines...
The park has been developed through the initiative and guidance of the
Duchesse de Mouchy.
After several futile attempts to have the garden renovated,
the Comtesse de Montpezat (an English friend) and the Duchesse de Mouchy
designed and replanted the garden together. As the seasons progress, the
colors and floral shapes vary: in autumn, the giant dahlias bloom in splendid
shades. English rose bushes continuously bud and flower. Dwarf box and
various lavenders hedge the different beds.
In contrast with the showy flowers, green plants provide
an understated note of beauty...
At the end of the flower garden begins a comprehensive collection of vines from all over France...
On this parcel of land, the estate maintains a collection of French
vines, creating a virtual vine museum intended for the study and conservation
of the wide variety of species.
